HMCS Vancouver off to war again

HMCS VANCOUVER

Sailing from Victoria in 2001 accompanied by the spirits of two previous ships bearing the same name.

In the centre of the painting is the second Vancouver, a corvette which saw action during the Second World War.

The first HMCS Vancouver is depicted ahead of the other two. She was part of the Royal Canadian Navy between the wars and was decommissioned in 1936

This reproduction of the painting does not clearly show the two earlier "Vancouvers", but I liked the idea of showing all three in one painting and so did the buyer.
