Included in this gallery are paintings of actual sea battles between sailing warships. For example "Wasp versus Frolic" and "Indefatigable". In each of these battle scenes I depicted not only the actual ships involved but the time of day (even the phase of the moon) and the stage of the battle at that time and of course the sea and weather conditions. All this information is available in history books that specialize in incidents of war. If the information is not available and if I cannot find accurate information about the particular ships then I look for another subject. These paintings are not only works of art but they are historical records
